6 reasons you should choose ceramic or glass worktops

Seeking a sleek aesthetic for your kitchen worktops? Then rustic wood or aged copper probably isn’t for you! Take a sneak peek at super-tough ceramic and glass worktops instead.

1. Hardwearing

Ceramic worktops are striking, hardwearing and heat and scratch resistant. (That said, I’d advise against placing hot pans and chopping directly on a ceramic worktop). Start your research by looking at brands such as Dekton and Neolith.

2. Plenty of choice

The beauty of ceramic worktops is that they come in numerous colours and can mimic other surfaces such as copper and concrete.

3. Easy care

Ceramic countertops are super easy to care for! All you need is a damp cloth and mild detergent – avoid anything that contains bleach.

4. Light boosting

If you’re hankering after a super-slick aesthetic for your kitchen, a glass worktop could be just the ticket. Looks aside, the reflective nature of glass means that glass worktops are a good way to boost light levels in a kitchen.

5. Super resistant

Toughened to make sure it is durable, glass is non porous (so it won’t stain), as well as heat resistant.  Be aware that glass worktops are prone to scratches and will also show up finger marks and water marks. To clean your glass worktops, wipe them down with a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Dry them with a clean cloth to avoid water marks and streaks.

6. Eco friendly

Glass worktops come in a huge range of colours and finishes, so you’ll be able to get the exact look you want. Recycled glass is also available if you’re exploring eco options for your kitchen.
